What does it mean to be a Christian and honor the Jewish people?

Built for churches, leaders, and everyday Christians.

The Olive Tree Campaign Overview

For nearly two thousand years, Christians have wrestled with how to speak about and relate to the Jewish people, often with tragic results.

Even today, many believers who sincerely oppose anti-Semitism struggle to explain in biblical terms why such hostility contradicts the gospel itself. As a result, anti-Jewish assumptions continue to echo inside Christian preaching, teaching, and imagination, often unnoticed, often unchecked, and often harmful.

The Olive Tree Campaign exists to address this problem at its root.

IIt gives Christians a clear biblical and theological vocabulary for honoring the Jewish people, resisting inherited distortions, and building relationships marked by trust rather than suspicion. It invites Christians to recover a posture that reflects the faithfulness of the God who has never abandoned his covenant with the Jewish people.

But this campaign is not only about confronting harm.
It is also about strengthening Christian identity.

Paul’s Olive Tree metaphor in Romans 11 makes this unmistakably clear: Christian faith was never designed to exist apart from a positive and respectful relationship with the Jewish people. Gentile believers are grafted into Israel’s story, nourished by Israel’s Scriptures, and sustained by the same covenant-keeping God. When Christians move away from this root through misunderstanding, erasure, or inherited anti-Jewish narratives, the church loses clarity about its own story, its own Scriptures, and its own calling.

In this sense, the Olive Tree Campaign is not merely about combating anti-Semitism. It is about strengthening the church. It calls Christians to rediscover the Jewish soil that gives their faith depth, coherence, and continuity, even while honoring the real and important differences between Judaism and Christianity. It encourages an approach of humility and repair, rooted in a story that God has been writing long before the church existed.

At the center of the campaign are the Olive Tree Affirmations, ten biblical commitments that provide a healthy Christian attitude toward the Jewish people and toward Judaism itself. Grounded in Paul’s Olive Tree imagery, the affirmations articulate how Christians can affirm God’s covenant with the Jewish people while deeply embracing their own identity in Christ.

But the campaign is more than a document.

Its purpose is transformation, helping Christians deepen their understanding, reshape their language, and build healthier relationships with the Jewish people. It aims not only to influence ideas but also to cultivate renewed Jewish–Christian relationships marked by clarity, humility, repentance, and genuine friendship. It is an invitation to participate in healing and to become better stewards of the story we have received.

The Olive Tree Campaign is designed to be shared. Bridge Builders Forum is seeking to collaborate with ministries, seminaries, denominations, Jewish–Christian relations organizations, and like-minded initiatives that share the goal of repairing Jewish–Christian understanding.

These partnerships will help multiply awareness, expand participation, and create a broader ecosystem of advocacy, shared learning, and sustained repair. Bridge Builders Forum aims to equip others with the Olive Tree Affirmations as a shared reference point, a common framework for a wider movement.
