Harsh critiques, priestly debates, and covenantal re-readings belong to the intra-Jewish discourse of the first century. For Christians today, these insights undermine supersessionism and invite readers to see the New Testament as a set of deeply Jewish texts that honor Israel’s ongoing role in God’s purposes.
